CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Cortland County Sheriff’s office has made arrests in a four-month investigation.

Authorities say Gabe Morris and Kyah Stein, of Groton, stole personal property, including guns, out of a parked vehicle at the Cortlandville Walmart back on April 5, 2023.  Morris allegedly sold the stolen weapons to someone in the Town of Willet. Both of the 45-year-old suspects were arrested on Tuesday.

Morris and Stein are each facing 8 counts of felony grand larceny and two counts of felony weapons possession. Morris is additionally charged with two felony counts of criminal sale of a firearm. Morris and Stein were both remanded to Cortland County Jail on cash bail. Morris is set to appear in Town of Willet Court on August 15.
