DRYDEN, N.Y. (WHCU) – A popular outdoor area in Tompkins County will see improvements thanks to state funding.
The Finger Lakes Land Trust (FLLT) has been awarded a $100,000 grant to increase accessibility at the Roy H. Park Preserve in Dryden. FLLT says work will be done on the hiking trail and wetland boardwalk to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

“This support will allow us to make this scenic natural area accessible to people of all ages and abilities,” said FLLT President Andy Zepp. “We’re grateful for this latest grant from the New York Conservation Partnership Program and their longtime support of our conservation efforts.”
FLLT plans to extend the existing trail in conjunction with the accessibility work. The extensions will provide access to two additional scenic overlooks.
