Gillibrand seeks to speed up process to get potentially lifesaving pills

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHCU) — Senator Kirsten Gillibrand hopes to make drugs more accessible for people battling serious illnesses.

She’s introducing the Promising Pathway Act. Gillibrand says the bill would accelerate the process to get pills.

“The current FDA drug approval system is often too slow for those dying of diseases,” she says.

The senator adds the bill is “bipartisan and common sense.”
