WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHCU) — Lawmakers are focusing on federal farm legislation.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says she’s very involved.

“I have a number of provisions — especially rural development — that I’m trying to get included in the farm bill, along with changing how we do pricing and insurance for dairy farmers,” she says. “So, I’m optimistic that the Senate will do its work, we really have until the end of the year to produce our farm bill, and I think we will.”

The most recent farm bill passed in 2018.
