ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A toy drive is underway in Ithaca.

The annual Greater Ithaca Activities Center (GIAC) Holiday Giving Tree initiative is in full swing and collecting donations to help ensure every child in the community receives a gift this holiday season. The participants this year range from 4 to 13 years old.

If you’re interested in making a gift donation, you can review the age and gift choices of each child in the program here. GIAC officials say you will not need to register an account or keep a password on signup.com to participate and the website does not share your email address. GIAC encourages people to shop locally with Giving Tree partner Alphabet Soup, located on the Ithaca Commons.

Gifts must be unwrapped and dropped off at GIAC between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. no later than December 15.

You can also make a financial donation online, drop off or mail a check to:

The money will be used to purchase gifts and support families in need this holiday season.

Anyone who would like to sponsor a family or know more is encouraged to contact GIAC Youth Program Coordinator Brandon Blas at bblas@cityofithaca.org or by calling (607)272-3622.
