CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland County man is facing a felony after allegedly causing a disturbance at a gas station.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was called to Pit Stop on Route 11 in Cortlandville around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 5 for a report of a disorderly person in the store. 36-year-old Casey Brown, of Homer, was located inside and taken into custody without incident.

Authorities say Brown had an illegal weapon on him at the time of his arrest. Brown is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and a violation for appearing in public under the influence of a narcotic.  Brown is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on July 12, 2023, at 11:30 a.m.
