FREEVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – No injuries have been reported after a frigid fire in Freeville.

The Freeville Fire Department was called around 4:30 on Saturday afternoon to a chimney fire at a residence on Mill Street that had spread to the attic. Seven other departments showed up to assist in putting the fire out in the bitter cold, including Dryden, McLean, Groton, Etna, Lansing, Varna, and Cortlandville .

The fire caused minimal damage to the home as firefighters were able to contain the blaze in the area of origin.
