ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cornell is penalizing a fraternity.
University officials are putting a deferred suspension on Sigma Phi Society. The penalty means that if the frat violates the code of conduct within the next several months, it’ll be immediately suspended for two academic years.
An investigation recently found Sigma Phi hazed new members during the spring 2022 semester. One violation involved alcohol, another involved driving potential members off-campus with no cell phones.
