ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A part of West Lincoln Street in Ithaca will close for more than a month.

Crews will begin milling and paving work in the 100-200 blocks this week. They will replace storm sewer pipes during construction. On Thursday, July 20, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., milling operations will make driveways inaccessible to residents. After that, access to driveways will be restored. The 100-200 blocks of West Lincoln Street will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project.

The city recommends westbound traffic on East Lincoln Street turn right onto N. Cayuga Street, continue straight then turn right onto W. Tompkins Street, and turn right onto Dey Street. Eastbound traffic should stay on Dey Street, turn left onto W. Tompkins Street, then turn right onto N. Cayuga Street, and continue straight all the way to East Lincoln Street.

Officials expect the final day of the construction Friday, August 25, weather permitting.
