ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Five weeks of construction begins today on South Plain Street in Ithaca.

The work will happen in the 600 to 800 blocks, including paving, adjusting catch basins, and replacing curb ramps. Officials recommend avoiding the area, if possible, but traffic will be maintained with flaggers and signage.

There will be no on-street parking for the duration of the project, which is scheduled to wrap up on Friday, June 21.
