ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Finger Lakes Land Trust (FLLT) is celebrating a milestone.

Three new projects have pushed the organization above the 30,000-acre threshold for land that will be conserved forever.

Started in 1989 as an all-volunteer endeavor, FLLT remains dedicated to protecting habitats for fish and wildlife, conserving lands that help safeguard water quality, connecting existing conservation lands, and keeping farmland in agriculture. Today, the accredited conservation organization is supported by more than 4,000 members.
