NEWFIELD, N.Y. (WHCU) – The state has approved over 100 million dollars in financing for water infrastructure projects across New York.

In Tompkins County, Newfield will use funds to improve its water collection system. Of the $1.13 million headed to the town, nearly $200,000 is grant money. The remainder is being awarded through financing, half of which is interest-free.

Elsewhere locally, the City of Auburn is getting a $3.7 million grant for drinking water improvement projects, including a comprehensive rehabilitation of the Slow Sand Filtration Plant and Rapid Sand Filtration Plant.
