UPDATE 12/29: Authorities say Isaac Faircloth was an occupant of the 2015 red Nissan Sentra that wrecked on Stillwell Road in Solon early Wednesday morning.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says Faircloth obstructed the investigation on scene and had a stolen credit card on him. During the investigation, deputies learned that Faircloth had also violated a full stay-away order of protection in the City of Cortland.
The survivor Faircloth was arrested and charged with grand larceny, criminal contempt, and obstructing governmental administration. Faircloth is being held in Cortland County Jail on $500 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on Wednesday, and Solon Town Court on January 10. Investigators say they have not been able to positively identify the deceased occupant of the car.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance regarding the whereabouts of Faircloth and the deceased person preceding the accident from approximately 1 a.m. to 3:53 a.m. on Wednesday. SOLON, N.Y. (WHCU) – Authorities in Cortland County are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash.
Deputies responded to the Town of Solon just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday for a reported one-vehicle wreck. Two people were allegedly traveling north on Stillwell Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, striking a tree. One person was pronounced dead on-scene, and the other was taken to Upstate Medical Center and later released.
