ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A former US postal worker in Ithaca will serve probation on charges he stole money orders.
40-year-old Stephen Perrine says that while working for the US Post Office in Ithaca, he stole 10 money orders that totaled nearly $2,500 by issuing them to himself, then entered false information in the post office’s accounting system.
Perrine, who lives in King Ferry, was sentenced Wednesday to 12 months’ probation after pleading guilty and must also pay full restitution to the USPS. Prosecutors say Perrine resigned from the post office after he was charged.
