DANBY, N.Y. (WHCU) — Danby voters get to decide if the town clerk will become someone appointed or remain an elected position.

Danby Town Supervisor Joel Gagnon believes the current structure can create a conflict.

Ganby stresses electing a town clerk becomes a public job evaluation.

The Danby Town Board has approved the switch, but it requires a majority vote among the public. Early voting is underway until Sunday, then Election Day is next Tuesday.
