ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is hosting a public information meeting in Ithaca as part of an effort to boost public participation in developing transportation projects.
NYSDOT representatives will show preliminary drawings and answer questions about a proposed highway improvement project, though no formal presentation is planned at this time. The project, tentatively scheduled for the spring of 2024, would resurface 2.5 miles of Route 13 and .2 miles of Buffalo Street in the City of Ithaca. Parts of the roadway that are in poor condition will receive extensive repairs that would reduce the likelihood of potholes.
Additionally, the project includes curb ramp replacements, drainage structure cleaning and height adjustments, new manhole frames and covers, traffic signal upgrades and improved signing and pavement markings.
The meeting is happening on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Boynton Middle School cafeteria.
