HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) — A street sign in Cortland County will not be changing.
Homer Town Supervisor Fred Forbes was trying to tweak the Preble exit sign to say ‘Homer and Preble’ – in hopes of attracting drivers to the town. He says the State Department of Transportation denied the request.
“Under the manual of uniform traffic safety devices, they will not allow us to do that,” he says.
Forbes believes the change could’ve benefited local businesses.
