ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca Police continue investigating a bomb threat at the Dewitt Mall.

In a statement sent to WHCU, Buffalo Street Books General Manager Lisa Swayze says the e-mailed threat was targeting the bookstore’s support of the LGBTQ community. Swayze adds five people associated with Buffalo Books were specifically mentioned in the threat, which was declared by IPD as not credible. Officers were called to the Dewitt Mall on Sunday, April 7.

Chief Tom Kelly tells WHCU charges of falsely reporting incidents and making terroristic threats are felonies. No suspect or suspects have been identified, and Kelly says anyone with information is encouraged to call the IPD tipline at 607-330-0000.
