ITHACA, NY (WHCU) – There’s still time to participate in a Tompkins County survey that could score you a new septic tank.

The Tompkins County Whole Health Department, in partnership with Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services, is applying for a grant that could fully fund septic repairs or replacements for income-eligible residents. Tompkins County Legislative Chair Dan Klein says the survey information is vital to the grant application.

Please complete the survey if:

  • your septic system must be pumped a lot, has backed up into the home, or is otherwise struggling to function
  • your septic system is more than 20 years old
  • your septic system is impacting a drinking water well
  • your home is NOT on municipal water/you have a private drinking well

The survey is available here. It must be completed by June 15.
