ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — There’s a deadline approaching to apply for part of a Facebook settlement.
The social media giant agreed to pay 725-million-dollars to settle a lawsuit, which claimed the company allowed the personal information of millions of users to be given to Cambridge Analytica. Roughly 87 million Facebook users were targeted during the 2016 Presidential election. Cambridge Analytica has ties to a top advisor to former President Donald Trump.
Facebook users between May 2007 and December 2022 are eligible to receive a payment until the deadline, which is August 25.
You can either apply online or print and mail the form.
