ENFIELD, N.Y. (WHCU) – Firefighters are urging people to avoid any kind of outdoor burning.
The Enfield Volunteer Fire Company was called to a field fire shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday. They were aided by the Mecklenburg Fire Company in putting out a 1-acre blaze that was within 100 feet of a house. Enfield Fire says recent above-average temperatures make for dangerous fire conditions.

The New York State burn ban goes into effect on Saturday.
