ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — More than $500,000 might benefit the arts in Tompkins County.

Legislators are considering awarding COVID-19 relief grants to several groups. Tourism Program Director Nick Helmholdt says the funding would bring financial stability.

“We set up this grant program to help those organizations get back on their feet and rebuild their audiences,” he says.

The potential recipients include Hangar Theatre and Kitchen Theatre.
