CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Main Street in Cortland might become greener.
The city’s Landscape and Design Commission hopes to plant trees along the busy road. Commission Chair Mike Dexter says recent construction has affected the scenery.
“All of the trees were taken down on Main Street,” he says. “We’re in hopes that we will be able to reforest Main Street with a type of tree which is suitable for the Main Street landscape.”
Dexter adds trees help keep summer temperatures cool.
