CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – Cortland Police are reminding people about soliciting.

It’s illegal to solicit door-to-door in the city without filing paperwork with the City Clerk, and authorized solicitors must have proper identification and their issued permits with them.

Authorities say they’ve received reports of illegal solicitors in the city this week allegedly representing a solar company. Cortland PD is warning the public to be cautious of scams.
