CORTLAND. N.Y. (WHCU) — The Cortland Police Department is getting some federal help to address staffing shortages. 

Congressman Marc Molinaro says $1.5 million will be split among five law enforcement agencies in the 19th Congressional district, including Cortland PD. Molinaro says there’s a critical need for new officers.

Cortland will get $125,000 to hire a new officer.
