CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Cortland Common Council is interested in adopting a hotel and motel tax.
During tonight’s meeting, the council will discuss asking the state legislature to adopt an Assembly and Senate bill authorizing the Crown City to create a three-percent tax on hotel and motel rooms citywide. City officials say the money generated would pay for infrastructure improvements and tourism promotion.
Cortland’s Common Council meets this evening at 6 p.m.
