CORTLAND, NY (WHCU) — Cortland needs a new judge. 

Judge Elizabeth Burns has received a new appointment, which leaves a vacancy at city court. Mayor Scott Steve tells WHCU they’re already looking for candidates. 

Judge Burns was nominated by Governor Kathy Hochul to serve on the Court of Claims. Filling the vacancy will also be discussed tomorrow during the Cortland Common Council meeting.
