CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A man accused of shooting a shotgun at police in Cortland has pled not guilty.
Steven Burda allegedly shot at authorities who were trying to serve him an eviction notice in late January. The 58-year-old Burda is facing a 17-count indictment, including multiple attempted murder charges. Burda could be sentenced to life if convicted.
According to the Cortland Voice, Burda’s bail was reduced from $500,000 to $250,000.
