CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — A man in his 60s is beginning to recover after suffering from cardiac arrest Thursday at CrossFit Cortland.

The Cortland Fire Department says CPR was performed on the man by Quentin Giles, CrossFit Cortland co-owner and a school resource officer at Homer Elementary. Officials say a defibrillator was also used on the man, who regained a pulse and is expected to make a full recovery.

The man, whose name is being withheld, will reportedly be released from the hospital in the next few days.

CPR classes are now being offered by the Cortland Fire Department. The next one is scheduled for March 27.
