CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cortland County leaders are focusing on mental health in schools.

Legislative Chairman Kevin Fitch says the goal is to get caseworkers and counselors to help students.

“We’re really starting to see third and fourth graders wanting to harm themselves, which is unreal,” he says.

Fitch adds mental health is a “big urgency.”
