CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Cortland County jail has fewer job openings than 2023. 

Sheriff Mark Helms tells WHCU about current staff levels.

Sheriff Helms says his department’s road patrol is closer to being fully staffed. 

The sheriff adds they are continuing recruitment efforts.
