CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — There’s a new health coverage plan for Cortland County employee retirees.
Legislative Clerk Savannah Hempstead says it narrowly passed.
“It was a close vote, it was kind of torn between the legislators, but it did pass,” she says. “The retirees were worried — and I think are still worried — that there’s not the same coverage, but the goal is to have same or better coverage that costs them less.”
Officials also passed a resolution to create an assistant public defender position.
