MORAVIA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A corrections officer at Cayuga Correctional Facility has been arrested for misconduct.
State Police say Timothy Paoff smuggled drugs and a cell phone into the medium-security state prison in Moravia. He was taken into custody on Monday. Large quantities of marijuana were allegedly recovered from Paoff’s personal property after a K9 search. Paoff is charged with official misconduct, receiving a bribe, and promoting prison contraband. Authorities say more charges are possible. Paoff had previously submitted his resignation, effective Thursday.
