ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — A Cornell Baseball player is reflecting on the season.
The Big Red recently fell to Penn in the Ivy League championship round. Pitcher Carson Mayfield tells WHCU the team played better than anticipated.
“If you look at expectations like what the preseason polls had for us, we blew those out of the water,” he says. “The team was pretty happy to show people what we’re made of, and hopefully in the future, like next season, we win it and we get to keep playing.”
Mayfield adds he’s “pretty satisfied” with the season. He’s entering his third year with Cornell.
