ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A pair of Cornell students aim to make campus news more relatable.

Meher Bahtia and Estee Yi are writers at The Cornell Daily Sun. They recently started a podcast titled The Sun Room. Bahtia says storytelling with audio has advantages.

“When it’s coming from the person themselves, I think the audience is able to connect with that more,” she says.

Yi hopes to expand their coverage beyond Ithaca.

“We want to be sure to tie everything that we talk about to current events, or more national news,” she says.

The journalists are preparing an episode about TikTok.
