CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – Traffic delays near Main Street are likely this week in Cortland.

Crews have begun installing storm sewer collection basins at the intersection of Main Street, Court Street, and West Court Street. Main Street will be closed at that intersection for the entirety of the project and will remain closed at night due to the amount of excavation required. Court Street will also be closed to traffic. Main Street is closed at Central Avenue, with traffic detoured down Central Avenue and Orchard Street. West Court Street traffic will be detoured on Haskell Place and Monroe Heights.

Officials say the work is scheduled to finish at the end of the day on Thursday, but could extend to Friday.
