CAROLINE, N.Y. (WHCU) – Officials in Caroline have appointed resident Michelle Brown to fill a vacancy on the Town Board.

Brown will serve as councilperson through December 30. She was also unanimously chosen by the Caroline Democratic Committee to run in the November election to fill the remainder of the two-year term. Brown moved to Caroline from Ithaca in 1996 and was Cornell University’s Book Conservator until her retirement in 2021.
Brown has served on the town’s Economic and Land Use Task Force, Planning Board, and Zoning Commission over the past three years. Brown has additionally been endorsed by the Working Families Party.
