HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) – For the second time in less than a month, a Canastota man has been charged with sex crimes in Cortland County.

Investigators with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Nicholas Carew on Wednesday, after an investigation into allegations of sex abuse that allegedly occurred in Homer between 2011 and 2013. Carew is accused of subjecting a victim known to him to inappropriate sexual contact on several occasions.

Carew is charged with six counts of criminal sexual acts, and a single count each of course of sexual conduct against a child and predatory sexual assault against a child, all felonies. He’s being held in Cortland County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in Homer Town Court on May 7.

Carew was arrested last month and charged with four counts of felony criminal sexual acts, and four counts of misdemeanor touching. Carew allegedly subjected a victim known to him to inappropriate sexual contact several times between 2010 and 2011 in the City of Cortland.
