CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A 30-year-old has been accused of sex crimes dating back more than a decade in the City of Cortland.

Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nicholas Carew, of Canastota, on Thursday after an investigation into sex abuse allegations. Carew allegedly subjected a victim who was known to him to inappropriate sexual contact several times between 2010 and 2011. Carew is charged with four counts of felony criminal sexual act, and four counts of misdemeanor forcible touching.

Carew was taken to Cortland County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. Carew is due in the City of Cortland Court on April 24 at 11 a.m.
