ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cynthia Brock is officially in the race for re-election to the Ithaca Common Council.
Brock announced Tuesday she’s running as a third-party candidate on the Ithacans for Progress line this November.
In June, the longtime alderperson lost the Democratic primary to Kayla Matos. Brock, who has represented the First Ward for a decade, says it’s important for everyone on the Common Council to be open-minded and sit down with people on all sides.
She’s also been endorsed by Alderperson George McGonigal, who is not seeking another term.
