SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHCU) — The longtime head coach of Syracuse men’s basketball has ended his run.

Jim Boeheim is no longer in the top spot. Brent Axe with Syracuse.com tells us it’s not technically a retirement.

Boeheim was evasive about his future with reporters Wednesday after the Orange lost to Wake Forest, 77 to 74.

The 78-year-old Boeheim was head coach for 47 seasons and ended his career with a record of 1,015 to 440.

Syracuse University has named Adrian Autry, who’s been associate head coach since 2017, has the Orange’s new head coach.
