CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — For several years, the Parker Elementary School building in Cortland has been closed.

Mayor Scott Steve tells WHCU it might soon be given new life.

In January, Cortland applied for two million dollars in funding through the Restore New York Communities Initiative to help rehabilitate the building.

Mayor Steve says he doesn’t expect to hear from state officials about the application until late summer or early fall.
