ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — An Ithaca city official is not pleased with Reimagining Public Safety.

Alderperson Phoebe Brown says the process has benefited authorities more than other groups.

“It is just so apparent to me that Reimagining Public Safety has worked better for police officers in this community than it has done for the community,” she says.

Brown adds law enforcement has many resources, like peer support and gyms.

Ithaca Police Chief Tom Kelly says IPD is focused on building resiliency and retaining wellness.
