ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Two dozen student and staff protestors at Cornell are facing criminal charges.
Joel Malina, who’s the vice president for university relations, says the group of 24 demonstrators gathered Thursday at Day Hall to demand Cornell divest from companies linked to the Israeli military. The protestors want a divestment vote at today’s meeting of Cornell’s Board of Trustees.
Malina says the group was repeatedly warned that remaining in the administrative building lobby after hours would result in arrests.
All 24 were charged with trespassing.
