ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Plans are progressing for a local daycare.
The Downtown Ithaca Children’s Center is looking to run an after-school program for four-year-olds. It would be on East Tompkins Street.
Executive Director of Operations Krista Tripp believes it would be a great spot for kids.
“The space is perfect for them to have imaginary play, for them to have literacy centers,” she said.
The building was previously occupied by a gym. Property owner Tony Serviente thinks the daycare would be less noisy.
“I doubt they’ll have like, you know, workout hardcore music deafening four-year-olds,” he said. “Nobody would like that, parents especially.”
Ithaca’s Planning & Development Board is reviewing the proposal.
