ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — State funding is helping Tompkins County pay for electric vehicles.

About $52,000 is coming from the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Zero-Emission Vehicle Rebate Program. Chief Sustainability Officer Terry Carroll says the county bought seven cars last year.

Legislators plan to accept the funding tonight.
