DRYDEN, N.Y. (WHCU) — An old landfill in Dryden may soon have a new purpose.

The Ithaca Voice reports Tompkins County and NYSERDA officials have agreed on a plan to possibly redevelop the former landfill on Caswell Road into a large solar facility.

The 112-acre site, which closed in 1985, has been vented for decomposition gases and monitored for groundwater quality.
