CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — State funding will benefit the Cortland County Department of Social Services.

About $165,000 is coming from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program.

County officials plan to hire a caseworker with the funding. The full-time job would help families stabilize their households.

Officials aim to approve the position later this month.
