ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The condition of a man is unknown after a bicycle crash in Ithaca.

Ithaca Police responded to the 500 block of East Buffalo Street around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a bicyclist that had crashed and was unconscious.

Authorities say the man struck a pothole while traveling westbound downhill and hit the pavement head-first. He was treated on the scene initially by Bangs Ambulance personnel before being flown to a regional trauma center. No additional information is being released at this time.
