ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – An Ithaca College graduate and two-time gold medalist hopes to go out on top.

Class of 2005’s Meghan Musnicki is heading to her fourth and final Olympics in women’s eight rowing. She is one of 21 rowers named to the U.S. Team in April. Musnicki was reportedly done with competition after her last Olympics in Japan until she decided to enter the 2022 Royal Henley Regatta for fun with a friend. The pair won, and her competitive fire was reignited.

A five-time world champion, Musnicki won Olympic gold in both the 2012 London Games and the 2016 Rio Games. Her squad finished fourth in Tokyo in 2021.

As a Bomber, Musnicki helped Ithaca College capture its first national title in women’s rowing in 2004, and again in 2005, cementing IC as the first Division III school to repeat as women’s crew champions.

Musnicki is poised to set another record in Paris on Monday when the 41-year-old will become the oldest U.S. woman to row in the Olympics.
